DESCRIPTION:Trunk Show of Merry May’s quilts.\n\nA bit about our visitor:\nMerry May is owner of Home Sweet Home quilting.   https://www.merrymayhem.com/ ( https://www.merrymayhem.com/ )\nShe learned to sew and age 8 and has been going ever since, discovering quilting in the early 1970s.   Her early efforts were hampered by poor choices of fabric and having no idea of how to hand piece.  Her next major phase had her moving to the sewing machine to do her piecing, but she still didn’t know about patterns.  By 1990, she had discovered the systematics of sampler block patterns, still quilting by hand.  She enrolled in an Intermediate Quilting class that she wasn’t exactly qualified for but from which she learned much.  In 1988 she was invited to teach a class, and that was the beginning of her professional career as a quiltmaker.  Since then, she has been labeled Quilt Maker, Professional Quilter, Instructor, Designer, Appraiser, Historian, Guest Curator, Commission Artist, Longarm Machine Operator, and Consultant.  Now she teaches numerous workshops at Guilds and Quilt Shows and runs her own shop teaching classes, selling patterns, and running popular Mystery Quilt programs.\nAt Ivy Creek Methodist Church at 6:00-7:30 p.m.  Trunk show is free.\n \n
